I am from muthokoi, cowpeas, traditional mangoes and oranges.
I am from Athi River, Transview Estate, Senior Staff - the living quarters of the senior members of staff of East African Portland Cement. This is where "Senior Staff" got its name.
Community
I am from a generous community.
I am from Peter Nthei Muokie of Ila Itune, Kangundo in Machakos County.
The origin of the kai apple and the perfect blend of wind and red dust that brings the sunset to life; as well as the ever-present waters in boreholes.
I am also from Lydia Nthei of Nduluku, Mbooni East, Makueni County. The specialists in mangoes and oranges.
These are my parents, whom I adore.
Grandparents
I am from Zipporah Kioko and the late Samuel Muokie Kioko of Sisyani village, Kangundo in Machakos.
I am from bright, early mornings full of relatives and large smiles and great laughter.
I am all about making and cherishing memories.
I am also from Teresa Tabitha from Mbooni East, Makueni County, a person you can count on because she always fulfills her promises.
She has the kindest heart. She is still the best tailor I know.
These are my loving grandparents.
Brotherhood
I am the elder of two naughty boys. There are three and a half years between Jeramie Muuo Nthei, my younger brother, and I.
Name
I am Danphill Kioko Nthei. From a medley of the names Daniel and Phillip, Danphill is born.
Daniel means "God is my judge" and Phillip means "friend of horses."
The meaning of the derivative, Danphill, remains unclear to me.
However, Kioko means early morning, which represents the time I was born, 6:00 a.m.
My great-grandfathers were Daniel Kioko and Phillip Kioko; this explains my name, Danphill Kioko.
Kennedy School
I have always attended Kennedy School, where I have another family.
I am Ms. Mercy's proud child in Christ and Coach Steve's son. They have both pushed me to unlock my potential.
I am the student Sir Gregory once taught biology; he was the teacher every student loved.
I am the golf and soccer captain; two very important achievements in my life.
I am the lively one in most scenarios, knowing how to light up the mood in any situation; that is what I love.
I am the student anyone can count on and trust.
Growth
I am from AKAD Education Group. I joined two and a half years ago.
I was always their "baby"; always given a ton of opportunities.
But things have changed since then. It is now time for me to be independent; make the right decisions. Wise decisions.
Mentorship And Faith
I am from Dr. Rev. Julius Weche, who has mentored and encouraged me for the past two and a half years.
The only man I know on a personal level with two titles in front of his name.
The only man I know that would not fail to let me learn lessons through difficult experiences that will grow me.
I am a Christian and believer who involves God in everything I do and has faith in Him.
Generation
I am from the tech generation; I grew up with digital equipment such as PlayStation, Mac laptops and smartphones.
I am from an era where the inability to speak one's mother tongue is not unusual, something not to be proud of.
I am giving myself the challenge of learning my mother tongue within a year's time.
Leadership
I am from Netflix and Showmax, where I first watched Gemini Man, a movie that depicts the movie star Will Smith, in character, fighting against his younger self.
There are lessons to be learned from the movie.
Relationships are important in molding leaders. They can influence the right moves, be a resource for important information, and create links with other leaders.
I am from the school of not letting relationships slip away when one becomes a leader, because one will need them in his or her leadership journey.
Creation
I am continually motivated by this quote by Andy Warhol: "The idea is not to live forever but to create something that will."
